Hugo Hard Podcast #02 – TRAP

Actually trap music isn’t new at all. Traphouse is slang for the spot you sell drugs out of. Also known as a stashspot (ie: you “stash” your drugs there). The first “trap music” was HIP HOP that dealt with the topic of procuring and distributing drugs. It later evolved into music that one would listen to in the “TRAP” while you prepared your drugs for sale. The term originated down south. Lil Wayne, T.I.,Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Young Joc are all hip hop artists that mainly specialize in the niche of “Trap music”. In fact…Young Joc’s debut single was titled “Meet me at the trap (it’s going down). This latest incarnation of electronic music has nothing to do with trappin (selling drugs) and needs to stop being promoted as trap music. People in the position of informing the people (blogs like this one) need to do some research before spreading falsehoods to the uninformeduninformed. Fact >Fiction, Knowledge > Ignorance.
